My dad has lived at Calyx for just over two years now, and we have found the community to be warm, welcoming, and caring. The team at Calyx clearly see my dad as an individual, respecting his independence and individuality while also providing support as needed. (Dad particularly loves the walking path around Calyx and the multitude of porch-sitting options!) Calyx is an impressive assisted living community with a warm and inviting atmosphere. My experience with their team has been nothing but positive—they truly care about the well-being of each individual.
This is a beautiful facility. The staff are warm and welcoming and were quick to answer any questions that I had. Every time I visit, the residents seem very happy!
Terrible staffing issues. Pathetic at following through with calls for help. My husband has an AVERAGE response time of over 2 hours every time he rings for help. Pathetic upper management. Lazy caregivers - and extremely sloppy in housekeeping. Actually had to wake up his caregiver to ask her how he fell in the shower that morning??? She was asleep at the nurses station. Example #1 I picked up my husband on Friday AM for the weekend. Sheets were removed from his bed to be laundered. Returned 9:30 pm Sunday evening. No sheet... read more
I have been most pleased with the care here since moving my mom into the memory care unit. The staff is so kind and understanding in such a difficult stage of life. They have made themselves available to me well beyond the regular workday hours and are prompt with responding to my questions and/or needs. This is such a joy since I live in another state. I really feel that Mom is being well cared for.
