I am banker at another instituition. Mt customer was handed a fraudulent check drawn off city first bank. I called to talk to the bank to verify if the cashiers check was legitimate. They were rude, untimely, and unconcerned if there were fraudulent cashiers check floating around. I called three times and each time was given a bogus answer. They seemed to not care about the integrity of their own cashiers checks which is very concerning. Would love to be able to talk someone from their fraud division.
Of the Service is still growing, not like White banks that have been around for decades! If Blacks want to not only have wealth but grow generation wealth they’re going to really have to start supporting and buying Stock in Black businesses. App is always down so something as simple as CHECKING YOUR BALANCE is a task and a half. Tellers are rude. Security guards stare you down. Bank is only open for 4 hours a day during the business week. If you need any assistance outside of those hours to say, process a payment over the weekend and can’t - you’re going to be s-it out of luck. Can’t do cash advances here either. Saw an article on LinkedIn and found out this is one of the largest depository institutions ran owned by black ppl. I really wanted to show support and open an acct. But it's Saturday and it looks like they're closed (strange) and ppl said that they can't get access to they money on the weekends, and the hrs are short as is. Black folk I'm sure would want to invest in our community but we don't have toys to play around with n money to gamble with. I hope things improve here n maybe I'll try in the future.
Called customer service. I am told is open. I visited the branch in DC Closed. Waste time to know is closed.
