We spent a lovely Thanksgiving Day having a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at Coastal Star Brewing Company. The purple drink is a Texas Lavender Margarita. The food was delicious, unique ingredients to the sides, and the perfect portion. We were too full to eat dessert but they had a few pies and a few cakes. Hubcap Grill is hands-down one of the best burger spots in Galveston! 🍔 The vibe is super laid-back and welcoming — exactly what you want on the island. My travel partner is from Chicago and I'm from Wimberley, Texas. We met in Houston and then drove to Galveston. We were walking around on the Strand and doing some shopping. We asked a local where there was a good place to eat. They directed us to the Coastal Star Brewing Company. We went in and the owner greeted us. Very friendly. The place is ran by him and his wife who we didn't meet. We had the bar b que and it was great. We tried the fries and loved them.

I had no complaints on my visit here. It was confusing at first because it comes off as a restaurant with a hostess but you quickly find out that is not the case. When you walk up to the counter the cashier is also your bartender. Wish they had that as two separate jobs. They have their own branded sodas which my boys enjoyed a lot. The food was expected. It is not out of this world amazing but it is not garbage either. It is a burger joint. We would definitely return to try some more another time.

It's such a quirky place! I loved the decor. We didn't eat but we had cocktails. I had a couple of spritzers that were really good. The staff was really helpful and friendly. They checked on us regularly. My girlfriend had the blackberry bees knees. Actually she has three of them lol. We would definitely go back next time we are in Galveston.
