I have been following Medicine Man Gallery on Instagram. He has always seemed to me to be a kind thoughtful person caring about the items he describes in his posts. I recently won a serape at auction for $47. It was so unusual I spent a good amount of time googling images to try and learn about it. Only finding a handful of similar serapes I reached out to Mark to see what he thought.. He quickly replied, "This is a called an aggregate Saltillo Serape, value if in excellent condition is $2500 and dates from the 1880-90’s." ... read more
I had spoke with Mark Sublette owner of Medicine Man Gallery. I have to say is one of the best in the Native American industry. He is a very knowledgeable man. I needed some info on two Navajo rugs and a Rio grande revival blanket circa 1940-60. The Navajo ones are from 1910 the other 1920. Also a small painting possibly done by Gerald Cassidy! If you need info on a particular piece/collection. Or you’re just looking to fill your home with historic/high quality Native American pieces. I highly recommend you go to Mark Sublet... read more
I recently wrote Mark to ask him to take a look at a Native American wicker basket my family had acquired. Not only was he remarkably responsive (he got back to me in less than a day) but he also provided some additional insights to the piece which had been missing. He is a remarkably respectable man, do not hesitate to do business with him.
Charles from The Medicine Man was a wonderful, knowledgeable guy! I got the name from Red Cloud in St Pete, Fl in regards to some Native American rugs that were ruined in Hurricane Helene that my father owned. I needed someone to identify them and let me know their worth so that I could submit to insurance. He was super prompt with his answer and it was greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
Beautiful gallery with lovely and abundant art and jewelry. Helpful and friendly staff. Really a pleasure.
