I have never seen a therapist before I scheduled an appointment with Rego Park Counseling and I did not know what to expect. Since day one the front desk staff is always timely, friendly, and very communicative with scheduling. My therapist Sam is simply stellar. She has been always attentive to my concerns, caring in approach, and sensitive to my needs. My appointments with Sam at Rego Park Counseling has been a totally positive experience that has enhanced my everyday life 100%

I had a very disappointing experience at Rego Park Counseling with Anastasia, the psychologist/therapist. I booked multiple appointments and consistently waited over two hours sometimes even longer without being seen on time. It’s frustrating and confusing why they schedule appointments if they can’t honor them. The office is clearly overbooked, and at one point, sessions were even being held in the hallway due to lack of space. This is completely unprofessional and not an environment conducive to therapy. Well I would have to say at first I wasn’t happy being there due to the fact my job forced me to attend.. but after speaking with MIke who was very helpful and attentive to my Needs her recommended I see Sam for further evaluation..but after a few sessions with Sam I learned to accept my circumstances and realized I in fact needed her guidance support and advice.. she’s been a great help and I would definitely recommend anyone with substance issues to come to Rego park counseling to see SAM!! I do not recommend this place for counseling, it seems more for a place for substance abuse. If you aren’t a high risk patient it seems that they put you on the back burner. I was told that I needed an intake appt, then a follow up with a psychiatry appointment. When I went for the 2nd follow up with Psychiatry, they had me waiting there for an hour. The one on ones with the counselor is superb, however the twelve steps and traditions are not really implemented in their program and my wife did her therapy with her counselor not a certified psychologist,the staff is really amiable but they don't really intensify n.a. to assist with relapse prevention
