We stayed at Seven Cousins Cottage #603. The house is gorgeous but the furniture in the great room is outdoor couches & chairs so they are rather uncomfortable but overall a fantastic home! We go to the Outer Banks annually and have stayed at a Vacasa managed property for the last couple of years and switched this year because of extremely poor experiences with their management. Now I see why this office of S or S has such bad reviews here. We rented Beach Babies #1130 on 07/05/25 and it was a wonderful house, the owner really has it super nice! Our S or S contact Penny called Monday 07/07 to check on us. I told her 3 TV remotes were missing batteries and the first-floor balcony light was out. She delivered the batteries the next morning and no word on the light. That morning I discovered the extra sheets I ordered for new people coming were gone. Stayed at a place for a vacation.. overall, horrible. 11 bathroom house with only 3 rolls of toilet paper and 3 soaps. We didn’t get in at 4.. more like 5p & the house wasn’t even clean. No spatula or hand soap.. floors were dirty, multiple areas of water damage around the roof and showers. Pool heater was broken. The elevator is loud.. the worst things, we lost power twice & the water is warm at best to shower. Plus, the trash runs 12a to 3a.. which results in loud banging and you are unable to ignore it.
Booked “All Swell” on hatteras island from 9/23-9/30 2025. Hurricane Erin’s storm surge closed down NC highway 12. We were not able to get down to the house on Sat 9/23. This stressed us out a bit as we had 20+ people coming in from as far away as California. They communicated along the way as best they could, which eased our minds. The highway opened 5:00 am Sunday to visitors, a handful of hours after locals were allowed on the island. 09/20/2025. Absolutely a nightmare, no where close to the 10+ year old photos or online description. Place wasn’t ready or clean after arriving close to 6pm for a 4 pm check in. Even after multiple phone calls never given a door code to get in until a staffer finally drove out while we waited outside so he could call the cleaners back to clean the restrooms and refrigerator out (smell would take your breath away)..We paid extra for linens and then shorted sheets for two beds.
