Now I see why this office of S or S has such bad reviews here. We rented Beach Babies #1130 on 07/05/25 and it was a wonderful house, the owner really has it super nice! Our S or S contact Penny called Monday 07/07 to check on us. I told her 3 TV remotes were missing batteries and the first-floor balcony light was out. She delivered the batteries the next morning and no word on the light. That morning I discovered the extra sheets I ordered for new people coming were gone. Booked “All Swell” on hatteras island from 9/23-9/30 2025. Hurricane Erin’s storm surge closed down NC highway 12. We were not able to get down to the house on Sat 9/23. This stressed us out a bit as we had 20+ people coming in from as far away as California. They communicated along the way as best they could, which eased our minds. The highway opened 5:00 am Sunday to visitors, a handful of hours after locals were allowed on the island. If you are looking for a reliable company for your beach vacation rentals, then look no further. Our family rented a home in Hatteras in October and we were beyond pleased. The local restaurants were amazing especially Hatteras Sol. Getting groceries was simple with the Red & White Market. We had a couple maintenance issues. They were promptly addressed by the team. We can’t wait for our next family vacation using Surf or Sound!
Our family absolutely LOVED TIME & TIDE! It is now one of our favorites! Time & Tide is not only beautiful, it is SO MUCH COZIER with the house layout. The house was immaculate, extremely well stocked, great cookware, comfortable beds & furniture, and super nice bathrooms. Heated pool and steps to the beach!!! Been to countless beaches and beach houses over the last 40 years and S or S is HANDS DOWN the WORST RENTAL COMPANY IN OBX! Dark houses, no pool heat, taped up doors, hot tub collapsed, tiny showers, banana shaped beds that kill your back! Worst vacation spot and house, EVER!!!
