Have rented with S or S several times over past 18 years and it was always great in the past. But this year they made an inexcusable mistake. The cental A/C at our house had stopped working prior to our arrival. While I get that things happen, a heads up would have been nice. There were 6 window A/C units in place so the place was plenty cool, but they are noisy and less than ideal (not to mention many had black growth on the vents). If you are looking for a reliable company for your beach vacation rentals, then look no further. Our family rented a home in Hatteras in October and we were beyond pleased. The local restaurants were amazing especially Hatteras Sol. Getting groceries was simple with the Red & White Market. We had a couple maintenance issues. They were promptly addressed by the team. We can’t wait for our next family vacation using Surf or Sound!
Our family absolutely LOVED TIME & TIDE! It is now one of our favorites! Time & Tide is not only beautiful, it is SO MUCH COZIER with the house layout. The house was immaculate, extremely well stocked, great cookware, comfortable beds & furniture, and super nice bathrooms. Heated pool and steps to the beach!!! This year we tried the OUTER BANKS BOIL COMPANY for one of our family dinners. The ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING. They came in, did all the work & cleaned up all the mess. The representative for surf and sound and Hatteras rude and very incompetent. My wife and sister-in-law stayed at house they represented , my mother-in-law got locked in the bathroom for over 45 mins which could have been very serious situation ( thank goodness it wasn’t ) that was on the Sunday the day after they got there they didn’t come out to fix it till Friday . . I spent a week at the Hatteras Moon house on Jollie Rd in Avon Beach, NC. We spent a lot of money to stay at the house for a week. I’m going to start off by saying that the house was NOT clean. First night there we noticed small toy like objects on the carpet, Lego pieces, BLACK MOLD ON THE VENTS, the shower curtain had an awful musty smell and when I looked at the edges of the curtain it was stained.
