I just completed 120 days in detox and recovery, and I’m incredibly grateful for every single person I met along the way. My time at the Gooden Center was life-changing. It wasn’t perfect - no where is. But in my experience with my own mental health journey and having helped an ex-partner through their path to sobriety I can say this facility was far more compassionate and patient-focused than any other I met with. The focus was on mental wellbeing and not solely sobriety. The seemed to tailor their approach to the individual. Meals were decent, accommodations were not 4-star but it isn’t a vacation.

I am not satisfied with the care I received at this facility. The nurses did not provide medications while following proper hygiene standards. Additionally, the psychologist did not listen to me or take my concerns seriously.

I went to La Crescenta. I often think about the time I spent there and sometimes wish I could go back. I loved my time there. Staff was friendly, the therapist was great, food was okay, and I benefited from having some structure in my day. It changed my life and I could not recommend it enough.

Pts are incredible working tirelessly! However, the psychiatry Dept Greg is lacking all the way around, I was there for 1.5 months and saw the resident psychiatrist a total of 3x, where as he went on leave/vacation on 2 separate occasions for 1 week each 14 days costing my insurance company $750x14=$10,500.00 ta da!!!!!! Something’s not right here! So I’m out!
