Dr. Thorkelson is awesome! He is what a mental health professional and doctor should be. He doesn't put you on any unnecessary medications, gets to know you as a client before changing medications, listens to all concerns. Most of all he walks you through why he would suggest an medication, what the medication should do, what side effects should be considered normal, and what to look out for in terms of negative side effects. Best doctor I've seen in 10 years.
Dr. Thorkelson is the real deal! I can genuinely say that he is a gem of a find; We have spent over ten years trying to find someone who could help our daughter and finally have found him in Dr. Thorkelson. I can say this is a physician who makes time for his patients, LISTENS to the parent, and looks at a whole family, whole body, whole mind, whole soul approach to understand and truly manage the unique needs of his patients. This is medicine the way it is meant to be practiced. Top notch!
Dr. Thorkelson and his staff are always very flexible with my difficult schedule. I can always rely on Dr. Thorkelson and he is always available if I need to speak with him. I have been a patient of his since last September and I haven't felt this good (mentally and physically) in a very long time. Thank you for all that you do for us!

Dr. Thorkelson has seen my 11 year old for two years now and our experience has been excellent. We are particularly appreciative of the time he takes to explain things, particularly regarding any medications, as well as his "out of the box" thinking on our son's treatment. With previous doctors we felt like we were just being given text book answers and medications, but Dr. Thorkelson approached our son with the attitude that mental health care is not a "one size fits all"situation.
