The University of Michigan Museum of Art is a beautiful museum with a wide range of art. It was free to visit the time I went not sure if it’s like that always. The museum offers a welcoming space to explore both classic and modern art.
What a lovely collection. I do wish the modern/contemporary art collection was a little bigger but other than that, I loved the galleries. I especially loved how they discussed the history behind paintings related to slavery. There are a lot of spaces within the museum to gather to work as well and participate in social art. And the best part? It's free. Great way to spend a couple of hours in Ann Arbor.
The Museum of Arts was a beautiful venue to host the 2024 U of M Black Alumni Association's Maize and Blue gala. The staff was friendly & professional and the food was delicious. They could improve the rental experience by documenting their policies & procedures (set up, loading, sound, alcohol, ticketing, photography, etc) and reviewing those with potential renters prior to signing rental contracts.
What a great day we had here! It was great to see all the installations with my mom, and see my kids explore and learn about all the different types of art.
If you are fond of ancient history, culture , arts & crafts, this is a very good place to enjoy with family and friends. No tickets required.
