Dr. Testa is a very kind and caring Doctor. He always spends the amount of time needed with me and never rushes out to see anyone else. He really makes you feel like you are the most important patient he has. He listens to any and all concerns and really does everything in his power to make all reasonable requests possible. If you want the best, then you want this Doctor!
On recommendation of a friend, I drove 4 hours to meet with this provider. The initial appointment went well, but then the startling lack of honest communication by his office staff has soured me against working with this provider. They told me insurance denied my procedure when I’m fact they’re never submitted it for medical review or approval. I will be seeking care elsewhere
I wouldn't let him touch me with a 10 foot pole. I was unhappy after my visit as I had to interview him, instead of him asking questions. Always anxious to leave, giggle after every comment. Felt very uncomfortable when taking photos as he and nurse exchanged looks. Does he wear those hideous high ugly black cowboy boots to surgery?
This Dr RUINED my breasts and a year of my life! I have bilateral breast surgery from Alvaro Testa Jr and he left me with lopsided, asymmetrical, sagging skin! I’ve had 3 plastic surgeons review my case to date all of which confirm that the surgery performed by Alvaro Testa Jr was extremely lacking in ability. I could not have been more disappointed with how badly my reduction surgery came out, but worse than that--the way Testa handled it afterwards. I immediately mentioned that there seemed to be too much flesh on the sides and was waved off to tell me that it would round out. During my final appointment when I brought it up again, because my breasts look like airbags are attached to the sides, he decided to tell me it was my fault for being overweight. I was not satisfied with the care and surgeries I received with Dr. Testa. He and Angie are very pleasant, but too busy to take a breath and explain things. The whole office seems to always be in robot mode. If I knew which questions to ask, they were answered, but they do not proactively help you to understand your options and attend to you as a patient. It was a disappointing experience and I have found another plastic surgeon.
05/2018: Within 2 days of my breast reduction I knew something was wrong. My left breast was completely black and blue and I started bleeding out at every incision point. After multiple failed attempts to drain the hematoma, I continued to bleed for over a month, causing stretching, scarring and a deformed breast. My daughter was in an emergency situation with a dog bite to the face. United Healthcare recommended she follow up with Dr. Testa following her ER treatment to prevent scarring. We immediately called to set up a consultation and treatment and were referred to his nurse Angie for special scheduling. We were not given any assistance or consideration and she left a voice mail saying Dr. Testa would not available. No attempt to provide help of any kind! I believe that the first infection I had was caused by Dr. Testa. The whole experience was not what I was told it would be. He has left my right breast deformed and not finished. He discharged me from his care on my last visit and didn't bother to tell me. I found out from staff when I called a couple of weeks later. My suggestion to anyone who goes to him is, document every visit, take pictures of what he does,, and request your patient reports from him.
