Moving? Beware… Paul Schwartz and Paul Levine of Bekins/Maffucci Moving and Storage in Amityville, NY are cheats. We received a quote to move of $8,050. They claimed that we used that just to move out of our house. They then wanted to bill us additional funds. Bekins moving and storage loses many boxes and the ones you get are damaged. They circle any of the boxes that are missing to make it look like they delivered them. I guess my missing boxes “fell off the truck “ and probably found a home in movers homes. When they picked up my stuff they filled the empty moving van to the brim yet when they delivered my stuff it was one of three other deliveries in the van. Avoid this company at all costs if you want to get all your things
This is the shadiest moving company you can get. DO NOT USE THEM! They quoted us 11k and final cost was 18k. Not only did they come to my house inspect everything prior to moving to give me that quote they saw two other quotes from other companies that were at least 4K higher. They wanted the contract so they LIED to get it and then almost doubled the price. Not to mention it’s been a month and my stuff still has not been delivered
Absolutely the worst moving and storage company. Multiple items were broken, taken apart, and ruined. They opened wardrobe boxes, stuffing large items into each box causing damage to clothing. They claimed damage was done in storage unit and they are not responsible for that. If you want your move to go smoothly, do not use Maffucci!
FYI don't get into an accident with any of their drivers apparently they have people working under the table for them! I was recently in a fender bender where I was hit from behind from a driver named Thomas OConner W. Junior who asked me not to call the police because he had a commercial license. I Wasn’t happy with the way my move was quoted. After the move I spoke with Paul who made everything right and was a complete gentleman and superb business man. I applaud his character and thank him for understanding. I was happy with the outcome after our phone conversation and should the need arise in the future I would make sure to deal with Paul and Mafucci moving and storage.
I would give them zero if I could. The guys doing the move were great but the office lies, false billing, bait and switch estimates, attempts at false charges that are actually against the law are just not worth the aggravation. Run from these guys...which is a shame because the workers are great just that the suits are crooks.
