Dr. Makarawo is amazing! Absolutely gave me my life back and saved it. He is very professional and thorough , he makes you feel comfortable and at ease no matter how difficult the medical problem he has to repair. He walks you through your options and goes through everything to make sure you understand what needs to be done in order to fix the problem. Dr. Makarawo, his staff and surgical team were always professional, informative, respectful, compassionate and reassuring throughout the entire process. Dr. Mak has done surgery twice for me. He explains what’s going to happen where I understood. I couldn’t say enough kind words about this doctor. He helps you feel not as embarrassed as you would.
Patient, caring, knowledgeable, sincere ... Excellent surgeon! Takes time, explains treatment/care thoroughly and answers all questions no matter how many you have. Easy to get appointment in timely manner. Also returns calls to answer questions & concerns in a timely manner. Staff are all friendly, helpful, efficient & follow through in a timely manner. I needed to get in quickly due to a thrombosed hemorrhoid. I was able to get a same day appt and Dr. Makarawo surgically removed it in the office. I was so scared since I had never had anything like this happen before. Dr. Makarawo was so kind and reassuring. He talked me through the entire procedure. His assistant put her arm on me and comforted me throughout. I will start by saying that I fell to a very unfortunate health situation. I met Dr. Makarawo while in the hospital for massive blood loss. Dr. Makarawo spent so much time as an advocate for my situation as I was continuing to get even worse news. After I was released from the hospital he was following up with my Oncologist when I would speak with him he already knew the results of bloodwork and other tests. This never happens. Dr. Makarawo took care of me when I was admitted to Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital with a serious case of appendicitis. He had to perform a rather unexpected appendectomy while I was on blood thinners. His sincere manner of concern and follow up was just amazing. I am so grateful that he was there and took outstanding care of me!!
