My appointment meeting Dr. Akhtar went extremely well. She had previously reviewed my medical history and carefully went through it with me, explaining what was significant to her. She covered all aspects of proceeding, listened closely to what I had to say, and answered all of my questions completely. I left the appointment feeling confident in her skills and abilities. In my experience, I would rate her highly.
Dr Achtar is the rare combination of brilliant and kind. Her surgery saved my life. Her kind compassion got me through one of the most difficult challenges of my life. She’s a gift to the world.
Excellent doctor
Even though it was only two days between making the appointment and my visit, Dr. Akhtar had studied my previous surgery history from six years ago. She explained what my recent ER visit had found, what further information was needed, possible complications going forward, talked about my sate of health, and discussed the issues and the decisions we would face after another CT scan. I have worked in the medical field for over 40 years. I was impressed and completely satisfied with Dr. Akhtar.
Dr. Akhtar reviewed my complete medical history prior to my appointment and spent as much time as I needed to explain my diagnosis and treatment strategy options. She made sure I understood these options and did not create false expectations as I had experienced with my previous colorectal surgeon. She has been a true blessing in my treatment and recovery. I have referred a few friends to her as well and they share my satisfaction with her care.
We met Dr Ahktar in January 2023. She was so incredibly compassionate to not only him, but to our entire family. She is extremely thorough and when she meets with us, we've felt like Terry is her one and only patient. We've had to make some tough decisions and she has explained thoroughly all of the options. The most reassuring and professional doctor. It started with my husband being released from ER with a raging infection and severe pain, just a referral, no antibiotics, nothing treated. The next day, with her office staff's assistance, Dr. Akhtar reviewed the chart, admitted him to hospital, and performed colonoscopy/biopies within 1 days after clearing the infection.
