Professional and friendly. No surprises or disappointments. Really nice facility. For 250.a night you could have thrown in breakfast
THE HGI adjoins the new Manhattan Convention Center. It is only 6 months old. Room 132 had a very high ceiling (16 foot?). It seem very spacious. It was on the ground floor facing the street. I would get a room on an upper floor to minimize the noisy. Across the street is a very nice park. Be advised of the optional $9 breakfast.
The hotel is overpriced for the value received. The banquet food was sub-par by comparison with other hotels in the area. Breakfast was cold, mostly because of the large number of people eating. The coffee urns were not replenished in a timely manner. The staff was pleasant, but not exceptional.
We arrive at the hotel late in the afternoon and very tired after a long road trip. The external appearance of the hotel couldn't be more comfortable. As soon as we parked on a very convenient and large lot, we were greeted by the staff. The interior was very nice and the room even better. The only observation I have is that there was no bathtub in the room, only a shower. Very quiet and free of odors. Restaurants and a beautiful shopping center were almost next door. We will stay here again.
As a brand new hotel in Manhattan it doesn't take much to be the best but this hotel did go above my expectations during my stay. The staff were friendly the location was right off the main Tuttle Creek Blvd. It just worked really well for what I needed it to.
Very reasonably priced (free coffee and internet although breakfast is extra) and quite spacious and comfortable. Very courteous staff. Enjoyed it.
Wish they gave a better explenation of the breakfast options. It was explained well to me at check in but I heard others who did not understand and thought the breakfast was included in the hotel price.
