I called The Foundation Works to come and give me an estimate. Brad came out on a Saturday to give us an estimate. He explained everything he was doing very thoroughly. He even told us we should have someone look at the drainage under the house but that wasn't something Foundation Works does. The crew (Myron, Christian, Thomas and Kent) did a fantastic job. They were professional, courteous and super nice. They had to come in and out of the house in order to check the leveling of the floor. They took great care not to let th... read more
I feel like this company tried to use scare tactics on me. I was delivered 'good news and bad news' by their inspector, Keith. The good news was the cost of the retrofit- exactly in the price range I expected. The bad news was that the retrofit would not pass inspection without a costly repair to the portion of my foundation that is masonry. When I asked later about modifying the extent of the repair in order to get it to something more affordable so that I could get the desired retrofit done, I was told we could forget the ... read more

"Well the great things about Angie's List, YELP, Google, etc, is that the consumer does have the final word, just as it should be. As a consumer myself, I find this to be one of the greatest aspects of the arrival of the internet! You see, as you pointed out, our rave reviews have us at the top of your list of who to call for the work. Being on the receiving end of just countless calls of happy clients, rave reviews, more repeat clients and pats on the back to Keith than I would even be able to count at this point, hopefully... read more
They were very punctual and came right out. After the work was complete, I had an inspector come out. He said that it was a substandard job. He said they hadn’t filled the cracks with epoxy and instead only covered up the cracks without enough bracing. According to the inspector, the standard is to put two brackets per crack and they only put one. I had to pay for the new owner to have another company come and re-do the work.

"In reviewing the comments here, I was certainty disappointed to find no indication of your having contacted us upon receiving such contradictory information. If someone accused the work of being wrong, why would you not query the company who performed it? As the Summary of Findings describing the work on your foundation clearly states, there are two repair methods for remedial crack repair, only one of which involves epoxy injection. As is often the case, different tradesmen have different opinions of what constitutes a rep... read more
They were really excellent. I was under complete stress because I had just inherited my parents house and I just figured I would automatically renew their house insurance, but the insurance companies do not go that way. They came out to inspect the house and because we are in the earthquake country they wanted to make sure that the house was bolted to the foundation. I remember my parents having some problems with getting insurance. It was really a very strange time for me, because the guy from the insurance company left and... read more

"Ah yes, some insurance companies can definitely add some flare to the day on occasion...! Well I'm so happy to hear the happy ending, we love when the "underdog" wins and all feels right with the world! Thank you so much for taking the time to jot down your experience, I'm very proud of the results my whole team is achieving on a routine basis out there and yet it's always a pleasure to hear it freshly on a new day! When we bought our house, the inspector recommended these guys to inspect our foundation. Tom came out and had a look at the house, which had some cracks in the drywall in various rooms, and told us we needed to retro-fit the foundation. The house was built in 1946 so it seemed reasonable to me. They offered a good price and were done in a timely manner, the crew he brought out were good guys and we were very happy with the work... at first. We were so happy in fact that when we wanted to remodel the basement we asked Tom t... read more
I selected Foundation Workssolelyon the Angie's List reviews and frankly I was really disappointed in the quality. Tom the owner showed up early for the estimate and walked me through the house and explained all the cracks in the walls. When he was finished looking under the house he showed me what he found (by drawings). However it felt like a used car sales pitch. He gave me a rough estimate on what it would cost and said he could level the floors but it would be a considerable amount more. I put myskepticismaside and wait... read more
