Ruined my panels We have had several issues with ESP. Since last year (2024). Panels worked fine before ESP installed their batteries. We just wanted to add battery backup. Batteries added now our Solar panels no longer work. Smart asses state their batteries work. Well no shit it's coming from the grid. Worst experience we've ever had.

Business response:

We're sorry for any inconvenience. When we first installed your new battery, unfortunately we discovered that the existing solar from the previous company was not installed up to code, and so we have had to work to address the improper wiring prior to activating your new battery. We are not finished with your battery project yet and expect to be able to visit this week to coordinate next steps. Rest assured we always want to leave everything better than we found it and we appreciate your patience and understanding in the mea... read more

The install from 08/24-Still wait the Technician to complete. The customer service is bad, send to request for schedule . it take 2~3 to responds, and take another few more week for technician to come. I wish that I could review the SolarReviews earlier before signed the contract with them.

Business response:

Tuan, we're very sorry for the delay in finalizing your project. Because you have a Tesla system, there is additional steps that we need your help to complete while we are on-site and you have your app and WiFi details available. Please return our calls or texts so we can assist, we look forward to helping finish this up with you!

Still waiting for project to be finished Process started middle of 2024. Initially expected for project to finish by August. By December, finally got approval from utility and county planning and building department. Panels were installed on December 23, 2024 and still waiting for the project to be finished. Been told project needed a "PV stamp" but utility and county know nothing about this. Still paying utility and now have to start paying for the system. Starting to get depressed.

Business response:

Brian, we're very sorry to hear about the delays. We're unable to confirm a project in our system based on your screen name and zip/location of the project as listed here, but we will be happy to assist if you reach out to our support teams.

ESP and their PPA is a scam! This is a total scam, covered up with a deceptive sale process and further masked by the confusion created due to over 7 parties involved. This was presented as the Power Purchase Agreement via an agent of ESP Partners representing ESP as the PPA who would use my roof to generate power, and I would simply pay for energy with a fixed monthly payment of $268/mo. The promised "white glove" service was to be monitored, warrantied, and insured, AND I could cancel after 1 year. The financial models rev... read more

Business response:

Mark, we're very concerned to hear about this situation. We do not employ salespeople but we expect all of the independent partners in our network to hold themselves to a high level of integrity and accuracy. PPA's are a valid financing option that many thousands of homeowners are currently enjoying across the country. Unfortunately we do not have a record of a project under your first name and zip code as you presented it here, but we do want to assist you with getting to the bottom of your situation - please reach out to s... read more

Don’t go with them!! It’s been 8 months and we are still waiting to get our solar turned on. Horrible customer service, will never get back to you. I wish I never signed up with them.

Business response:

Gabriel, we're sorry for the length of time your project has taken. Because the electrical on your back porch was unpermitted prior to use starting the project, it caused a delay and snag in the installation and inspection process. We have scheduled a slot with a technician team who will be visiting to clean up the electrical now that the porch permit was secured, and then we will be able to proceed with inspection and activation of your system. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to wrapping up your project prom... read more

Horrible Customer Service I had my solar installed with ESP and it appears no issues with the installing excluding the damage to our swamp cooler my camera caught and I was home, when the worker's tool box fell off the roof on to it. Also they disconnected my lighting (electricity) in the back of my home and has not restored it. I have a rep name Iris who lack efficient communication with me, does not respond, or will not call me when I ask of her to get get clear information. This is not okay, and is unprofessional. I ask f... read more

Extremely disappointing experience. The project has been dragging on for over five months and is still incomplete. While delays due to permits or PTO are understandable, the real issue lies with ESP’s inability to submit documents in a timely manner. Their lack of efficiency and accountability is incredibly frustrating. Communication has also been terrible, making it a nightmare to deal with this firm. Definitely would NOT recommend. check this site for other reviews: https://www.yelp.com/biz/energy-service-partners-torrance... read more

Business response:

Ted, we're sorry for the lengthy amount of time your project has taken. We acknowledge that there have been challenges but we are working towards the goal of finishing your project ASAP. To be clear, your installation is a newer type of interconnection known as a Multi-Tariff system; the documentation is brand new to the solar industry so there isn't as much precedent to lean on. Regardless, we know there's opportunity to improve and appreciate your patience and understanding while we get your solar up and running.

Think Twice before Choosing ESP I would like to start off by saying that my main objective is to bring awareness to those who are in the process of choosing ESP for your solar panels project. I am having the worse experience with them because the panels aren’t producing enough energy and now I am paying Edison a large bill and also paying for my panels. The sales person completed his assessment and said I needed 13 panels to cover the usage, I even purchased 2 extra panels to make sure I had extra because my plan was to get ... read more

Business response:

Isa, we're sorry to hear about the frustration with your project. Every home is unique and every family will need different system size as it pertains to usage and possible configurations, and other installers may have other protocols or tolerances for designing systems on carports or other non-roof structures, but everything we install is up to code and meets contractual obligations or else your system would not have passed inspection. We are always happy to review your power bills and compare to your usage to ensure everyt... read more

Horrific Company - Nightmare! Nightmare company. Ground-mount gone so wrong. ESP is impossible to get anyone to answer a phone, return a call - quite frankly do any sort customer service. In 12 months, which is how long we've been dealing with this company and our solar installation has not even begun, we have had 3 different project liaisons, all completely ineffective. We hear the same answer when someone decides to address a text, calls are completely ignored - "I'll pass this on to the team ". Finally, we involved our sa... read more
