Absolutely terrible. My wife was looking into life insurance for us and we were actually contemplating going thru them. Never did she agree or sign ANYTHING and money was taken from our bank with no authorization whatsoever. Didn't even finish the application process. No plan was agreed upon. The agreed to talk the next day. No call, and money was taken. Now they say it's going to take about 3 weeks. They tried to get her to send them a fax and it sounded sketchy as is, and our bank said it sounded like sketchy also, and the... read more

Fraud, never signed up for this, I advised to cancel within 1& 2 days of origination via a phone and text. Agent *************** *****, ************** ******* fraud, signed me up without consent and never authorized this insurance and told to him to cancel and per texts said illegal cancel and repetitively asked to cancel. **** said was cancel but never was so months later caught in big mess Americo life refusing to resubmit payments so ended check account to stop them. This is the worst insurance company i was paying 57 dollars every 3 months and now i have to pay 518 dollars for my life insurance this is a joke people don't choose this company this is the biggest mistake of my life i have to close my account

This agency hires call centers overseas to call and harass all day long. They ask how much coverage you want? Only to suggest less coverage for an outrageous fee! Ridiculous they decide for you!

My wife left her job in December and was required to get health insurance by law. She contacted the exchange was provided information on companies registered with them. At not time did the agent mention life insurance when "SELLING" the health insurance She was working with agent ************************* and broker *****************************. I've been a long time customer.I applied for a loan... & this is NOT a user/customer friendly process!It's horrible!I've been waiting for 15 days & still no deposit. Now I'm told it will be another 5 to 7 business days!!Shame on you!I wouldn't apply if I did need it!! So...when I die...will my family go through this garbage, too?

Its a shoddy company. Agents should not do business with them!!. When an agent signs up with an upline and seeks contract with Americo goes ahead and seeks licenses with the 4 states that requires appointment fees before you can sell with them. They do not notify you when they decide to do these appointments they just do. And if you happen to sell with them the fee comes out of your commission or they send a very rude email and demand the state fees money and threaten to charge interest, and terminate you and take you to cou... read more

I can echo the sentiments of each complainant below. Attempts for such simple things as change of address (even with their required forms and multiple send dates result in inaction and remain incomplete). Phone CSR staff become rude and insolent when customer raises/registers concerns, disappointment or skepticism with lack of company follow through and inaction. I'm a beneficiary of a life insurance policy issued by Americo. I have tried on several occasions to reach ********, the Americo representative in charge of claims for this policy. My voice mails and emails have gone unanswered. Americo seems only interested in pocketing premiums and avoiding claimants, the worst insurance company ever.
