I wish I had looked at these reviews before committing to americo. Over 2yrs of funds down the drain. It doesn't make any sense that if someone has fallen on hardship that there's slim to none of consideration. The only way to receive the money that has been accumulating is either after 30 yrs or dying!! It doesn't even matter what the agent stated to gain the acct. Americo defrauds Senior Citizens and should be investigated. Our parents are 90 and 96 years old and have paid in over $200,000 in premiums for a Universal Life Policy and just received a letter saying their policy has expired! Can you imagine being a WWII Vet, who has lived longer than expected paying enough into a life insurance policy to more than buy his house and finding out as his life is winding down that this company tries to find loopholes to make sure the policy is cancelled before he ever needs to use the policy. ... read more

Americo is horrible! I saw the crappy coverage and canceled immediately before the policy went active. They never removed my bank information from their end and kept charging me. I called and got a refund, well,it happened again. This time putting me in overdraft! They refunded my money the next day,I told them this shouldn't happen because I canceled the policy,the representative said "she sees its canceled ". It happened again! My agent assured me that Americo had canceled the application to them. I got a confirmation as of 1:03am on 7/29/2023 that no they had not and that they'd opened a policy without my consent or ever contacting me on a weekend when they know I can't get in contact with them until MONDAY! If this is an example of their business practices then I do not recommend them in any shape form or fashion and I will advise my friends to avoid them entirely. I am not happy about this.

This company is terrible. We have been paying $300 for the living benefit and then my husband and I are both out of FMLA for different reason medically bad timing and they refuse to pay out and now all of a sudden dont cover anything. Do not I repeat do not use this company for anything. We were lied to about what it covered and they refuse to reimburse our premiums even though they lied to us about what was covered. Such a disappointment.

Im still waiting on a claim payout. After submitting all paperwork needed. This company will pull you through so many loopholes. There not compassion after loosing a love one. Your place on hold for at least an hour before speaking to anyone, Then your transfer again to the representative just to leave a voicemail. I call every day because I do not receive a call back . Absolutely terrible. My wife was looking into life insurance for us and we were actually contemplating going thru them. Never did she agree or sign ANYTHING and money was taken from our bank with no authorization whatsoever. Didn't even finish the application process. No plan was agreed upon. The agreed to talk the next day. No call, and money was taken. Now they say it's going to take about 3 weeks. Fraud, never signed up for this, I advised to cancel within 1& 2 days of origination via a phone and text.
