In October I was contacted by an agent that said they were from out mortgage company and was offering mortgage insurance on our new refinance. This person advises how it would cover the mortgage if either of us passed away for any reason other then riot, suicide or drug use. A women called to say my old insurance company is going out of business. She had the account number my old life insurance company. She also had my back account. She would not answer how she had that information. I spoke to my insurance company, and they are not going out of business. I got a welcome package in the mail. In 2020, an Americo agent presented us with this seemly great coverage that not only would pay for expenses in the event of my death or my wife's (we both obtained coverage) but had a clause that would pay us a large portion of what we paid in should we end our coverage. I obtained new employment with excellent benefits at the end of last year, so I ended my Americo coverage. So far, this has been a huge ripoff. My 87 year old mother signed up for this on her own and has been paying 100.00 a month for it for two years now. I just found out about the policy as I am helping her with her finances and living situation. I was able to access her policy on line and there is some random email address associated with her account of which we have no association. Well shopping for health insurance during open enrollment in 2023 I was told that this was part of my Cigna health insurance and that I would be paying 140.00 a month for both my husband and I for our hearts health insurance. Never discussed life insurance or a thirty year term or a beneficiary. Was looking for health insurance and an agent called from Americo, I should've looked it up. We signed up for it, but by the next day I realized who they were tried canceling it through phone and email but could never get through to someone. The agent told us specifically that it was health, dental and vision. But when we got the policy not a single word of dental or vision in said policy. The agent 100% lied to us. I am still trying to cancel it.

If Icould give this insurance company a 0 star, I would have done it but 1 star was the lowest. They definitely promise and tell you lies when they want to sell you the policy, and when you call them and start reading the written contract, it's a different story! “ Apparently I miss understood the policy” according to them. Don’t waste your time and money!

After spending an incredible amount of time speaking to an agent, I was told my monthly premium would be a certain amount but Americo drafted my account for nearly double the amount of what I was told. I canceled my policy immediately after realizing this. Americo is not a trustworthy organization.

If you’re building an agency/broker I do not recommend getting contracted to Americo. Main reason being is they do not care about the agents that contract with them. Honestly they’re similar to the United States Radical Left. Their underwriting allowed multiple agents to write multiple of the same clients, 4 different apps each. People without normal socials, routing or accounting. Which racked up $200k roll up debt for me. They will not take responsibility for anything and will continue to put it on agents.
