Wish I could put zero stars. After cancelling my policy with them and deleting my account, I was charged for a separate life insurance policy I NEVER authorized, received a quote for, or even wanted. They have been awful with issuing a refund and I will be taking them to court to settle, as they admitted they have no record, invoice, or itemized receipt with my transaction or policy details. They’re all scum.

My husband got a call after looking at veterans life insurance. The man made it all sound good. I was telling my husband to not give out his info. He is 70 years old. After he hung up he got a call from veterans life insurance company. But he decided to not go ahead and to stay with the insurance he had. I am having a negative experience with the company, and I have been struggling to get in touch with them for quite some time and that they have not been providing me with adequate customer service. I concerns about the legitimacy of the company and are considering legal action to potentially recover your money. If I could give a zero I would. Customer support was very rude to me. Needing copies of me and my husband's policy and unable to access them from my phone. They insisted on speaking to my husband after telling them multiple times he was on a ventilator and unable to speak. He actually said to me "he needs to go to the library and get on a computer" I requested a copy of my own policy to be emailed to me since I am currently in another state with my hospitalized husband. As a professional that has used Americo sparingly in the last 18 years, I would strongly advise that anyone thinking of purchasing an annuity not to do so. Their customer service lacks professionalism and many representatives seem as if they have minimal (or no) training when processing applications. Going forward, I will no longer present this company as an option to my clients and urge those reading this to stay away from them.
Some shady guy called after clicking a Facebook ad about mortgage insurance. We were curious about the costs of coverage. He got our social security numbers and dates of birth so they could run a “national health database check” and then said we qualified for coverage and high pressured us to give our bank account information including routing number and account numbers. In October I was contacted by an agent that said they were from out mortgage company and was offering mortgage insurance on our new refinance. This person advises how it would cover the mortgage if either of us passed away for any reason other then riot, suicide or drug use. We gave beneficiary names and signed up, with the promise of being able to review the policy when it came by mail. It never did. NO email. Just billing my account $166.25 per month. A women called to say my old insurance company is going out of business. She had the account number my old life insurance company. She also had my back account. She would not answer how she had that information. I spoke to my insurance company, and they are not going out of business. I got a welcome package in the mail. In 2020, an Americo agent presented us with this seemly great coverage that not only would pay for expenses in the event of my death or my wife's (we both obtained coverage) but had a clause that would pay us a large portion of what we paid in should we end our coverage. I obtained new employment with excellent benefits at the end of last year, so I ended my Americo coverage.
