Great experience with the company help staff! We had to cancel the policy during the grace period. There had been a misunderstanding when the policy was issued. The agent was more than understanding and efficiently handled the problem. More than a month ago, I received a letter from Americo about my father's life insurance policy after he passed a couple of months prior. Mom and I were not even aware he took one out for me. I filled out the paperwork, scanned the documents, and email them to them. They offered to either give me the money in a lump sum, or through access to an account. I chose a lump sum. Within ten days, as promised, I received the check in the mail. I was very satisfied with their work
Customer service was great and great rate policy. I have everything I need in order to contact my agent if I need them and agent is absolutely great.
My agent Jill H*** was so heart warming. She heard everything I explained to her that I needed, she did not try to sale me anything she was genuinely interested in what was best for me and my family. She thoroughly explained my policy and made sure I had all of her information to get a hold of her any time I needed something or had any questions. I moved half of my retirement funds into an account with Americo. In the first year, they claimed they mailed me a check for my RMD (required minimum distribution) and deducted the amount from my account. But after pressing them since I never received the check, they admitted they never mailed the check. Then they charged me a penalty for the RMD distribution, which is not allowed. It is a continual battle with this company. I believe it goes beyond incompetence and it appears that their actions may be criminal.

I received a call from a Agent about 6 months ago selling me a policy through Americo Life Inc that I never received a policy for. I called Americo Life Inc and they informed me the policy was written up incorrectly with me being the beneficiary if my wife passed away the policy should have been written up as my wife as beneficiary if I passed away, the associate at Americo told me the policy could not be revised after 90 days I informed him that I never received a policy. No response by business to customer request to surrender the life insurance. Surrender form submitted 2 times and email confirmed was received. No response to email, at least 10 phone calls to attempt to speak with a representative. Each time the recording said I was over 100 people in line. This matter has not been resolved.

I filed paperwork for a disbursement from Americo almost two months ago. After no word for two weeks, I called to find out the status of the disbursement from my 403b and was told it would be sent the next week. Two weeks later, I called and was told it would be sent soon. Now, after nearly two months since my request, I’m being told that it is my responsibility to contact some third party administrator to get their ok.
