I moved half of my retirement funds into an account with Americo. In the first year, they claimed they mailed me a check for my RMD (required minimum distribution) and deducted the amount from my account. But after pressing them since I never received the check, they admitted they never mailed the check. Then they charged me a penalty for the RMD distribution, which is not allowed. It is a continual battle with this company. I believe it goes beyond incompetence and it appears that their actions may be criminal.

I received a call from a Agent about 6 months ago selling me a policy through Americo Life Inc that I never received a policy for. I called Americo Life Inc and they informed me the policy was written up incorrectly with me being the beneficiary if my wife passed away the policy should have been written up as my wife as beneficiary if I passed away, the associate at Americo told me the policy could not be revised after 90 days I informed him that I never received a policy. No response by business to customer request to surrender the life insurance. Surrender form submitted 2 times and email confirmed was received. No response to email, at least 10 phone calls to attempt to speak with a representative. Each time the recording said I was over 100 people in line. This matter has not been resolved.

I filed paperwork for a disbursement from Americo almost two months ago. After no word for two weeks, I called to find out the status of the disbursement from my 403b and was told it would be sent the next week. Two weeks later, I called and was told it would be sent soon. My parents had a term life insurance policy with this company. Each payment notice said *Urgent* Policy Grace Notice Lapse Date: ___. There was a form attached so that you could choose to pay extra. Why? I feel this is deceptive and preys upon the elderly. It gives the false impression that the payment is past due when it is not.

I have been scammed by Americo Life ins. They are cheats and liars. I had no policy . That came from them. They didn't accept me. I am 84 years. Then they took $250 out of my bank. All I had. I called someone said I would get refund in 7 days. I called again said no refund. Said I had had 2 policy's. I had had none. They refuse to give me coverage or my money. They are rude and mean. I live totally on social security. They have hurt me badly Christmas time

On 11/10/2020 I opened an annuities the process was smooth and fast, great customer service. Now is time for me to close my account and transfer my money to another company who are giving me higher interest rate. Americo, received the transfer documents on October they had everything what they need to transfer my money.
