Was mislead on surrendering my husband's WHOLE LIFE POLICY and I believe we were ripped off. On a good note, I never surrendered his policy. But the deceit will cost us money. My husband is a veteran, but that means **** in today's reality. I am stopping all auto debits, paid our MUTUAL OF OMAHA PREMIUM and advise all that there's to STAY AWAY. FYI; will acknowledge if 1st month premium is reimbursed.

I opened an annuity account with Americo in October of 2018 with my life savings of $11,000. As of November 9th, 2024, my account is worth $10,862.57. Americo has charged me thousands of dollars in fees to manage my account. They literally charge me money to lose me money. They refused to let me have money unless I paid a surrounding fee of $800. My husband got this policy for me. It's way overpriced, and you can't get anyone to contact you, which leaves me wondering what beneficiaries are going to do if someone passes. Multiple emails and no answers, no phone that I can find.

i got denied as Americo took 87.00 out of account and said i would get it back and its been a month and nothing as they took out again another 87.00 have the letter right here of denial so why keep on taking from my account and still not pay what they took out

Way over priced. Then when I canceled they kept my payment and would not issue a refund even though I had just made my payment. Said it takes 15 to 20 days to cancel a policy. I would not use this company.

After talking with an agent and getting a quote for life insurance, we told the agent we wanted to think about it. Two days later we found out he had debited our account and issued a policy that we didn't agree to. We called the agent and he gave us another number to call. Called the cancelation department and after holding for 28 or so minutes, we were informed it would take at least 12 days for them to refund our money. I canceled the policy we never agreed to and called our bank to report the fraudulent transaction. NEVER... read more

I started with College Life Insurance Company, they changed my Policy over to Americo Financial Life and Annuity Insurance Company. In October 2024 I received a statement stating that I have a past due amount of $688.61 and my monthly premium will be $159.49 instead of $65.00 a month. I have had this Policy since October 1997 and I am on a senior citizen on a fixed income. Upon reviewing these critiques, I have decided to cancel my subscription. I had hoped to encounter more positive feedback, but unfortunately, the majority of comments were negative. Therefore, I have made the decision to terminate my plan. I approach this situation with a healthy dose of skepticism.
