I was sold two policies for one home. I only discovered this when I thought I was getting double-billed each month. I was told I would get any money paid in back upon selling my home, if I never used the insurance (it was supposed to serve the purpose of paying off my home in the event of my death). Turned out this was only applicable after 30 years. Two different agents sold me policies. One must have disregarded that the other had already sold me one.

They promised this would be a full mortgage insurance as in, if I was terminally ill they would pay the $250k for the mortgage. The policy is only worth $75k.

I had a return of premium life insurance plan. When my 15 years was up, I requested to not extend my policy but to cash out. They refused to pay my premiums back saying I took to long to send the paperwork in. They never informed me that I had a deadline to file and kept all of my money.

My wife has a life policy with Americo. She recently changed banks and had contacted them, giving them updated payment info and paying the premium. However, this company tried multiple times to get money from the closed account, AFTER being PAID from the new account. They do not respond when contacted and do what they want. She is cancelling and going to another company.

My mother just passed away Friday, March 7th. Our family went forward with the funeral process, and after we left, we were informed that Americo wouldn't pay the policy. Now we are stuck paying out-of-pocket when my parents believed they were shielding us from this grief. They should be ashamed of themselves. Needless to say, we will be canceling our father's policy.

Americo Life Inc, broke our agreement, never heard from them and then I found out they where taking money out of my checking account. Granted I'm glad I found out how horrible this company was before anything tragic happened and before they stole to much money from me. Highly recommend hanging up on this company they will not honor the contract or their word over the phone. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with!!! Cancellation and return funds have been floating for 45 days. Called customer service get nothing in assistance but they tell you wait wait wait. I will be deceased by the time my refund comes in. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! Expected a refund from my cancellation by mid-January 2025. As of February 27th I have still not received a refund. Complete scam. I have been trying to cancel after immediately starting my policy. I filed a claim to cancel a month ago and no one has contacted me regarding it. My bank account is still getting charged. When I log into the online portal I can’t even look at my policy. Anytime I try to call I end up on hold for an hour and a half. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS
