Horrible This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any company I've ever worked with. Communication was absolutely horrible. I would call my project manager, and I'd either never get a call back or days would go by before they returned my call. My solar plans sat for 3 weeks without anyone getting them updated and sent back to me. The installation team did a good job when it was all complete but they couldn't complete the job in one day. At the end of the first day of instal, they left the panels that hadn't b... read more
First i would like to be reimbursed for my large Edison bill & Solar bill since it took much longer than promised. It took over 6 Months to get our solar up and running was told 3 Months at the longest. Was not happy that it took so long to even get our panels on our house. ESP has too many Contractors doing each process to get the job done.
Business response:
Corrigan, we apologize for the timeline and but the delays with the project were due to the permit and inspection which were outside our control. We always strive for fast turnaround and holding to timelines that we expect to achieve regularly, but there are unique challenges with every project and we're sorry that yours fell outside our average.
Unorganized, inefficient, can't get info after deposit I really wish we chose a different provider for solar. From the day we put our deposit down, it took 9 MONTHS for ESP to finalize installation and get the power running. Project managers are horrible and give you zero updates. ESP messed up sending the correct layout drawings to the city for inspection, causing a huge delay. After we finally got that issue resolved, ESP then paid an incorrect amount to the city for the permit fees - causing another delay and a whole new ... read more

We're sorry to hear you had this experience. We apologize for any delays that were within our control - each project is different and yours did require design redraws and rework with the permit which cause a lot of the delays. We always want to leave every project site better than we found it and will take it up with the crews to ensure we're cleaning up after ourselves.
DO NOT use ESP for solar panel installation I started this process in July 2022. The only reason I have panels on my roof and an upgraded MPU is because I was in constant communication with them. Upon installation, they forgot to install a wire to provide power to the outlets in my garage. I noticed the impact immediately and was told that the warranty department would handle the fix. 3 weeks later, I heard nothing from Jen and even tried to contact the number she left me for her direct line. I spoke with Brandon and he was ... read more
Business response:
We apologize for the poor experience. It sounds like there were some miscommunications and we will investigate to see where we can improve. It looks like all of the work on the electrical ticket has been completed, and the next step in the process is the inspection as you pointed out, and we will make sure we have resources in place to get it completed promptly.
It ended well but there were bumpy parts We’re satisfied, so far, with ESPs work (less than 1 month since all was up and running). Our problem was with communication. For some still unexplained reason it took THREE tries for the crew to finish installation. Each time the crew would come out, do some work and leave without any explanation with the work unfinished. Also, each time, there was no communication from ESP as to what would happen next. We had to call (and in one instance the main office had no idea the job was incom... read more

Thanks CJ, we appreciate the constructive feedback and are always striving to improve our processes. We're glad you're satisfied with the end result!
Please Use Anyone Else I wish I read this before! 1. Job started in May 2022, panels still not up and running. 2. Horrible customer service from beginning to end. It is all lip service but no execution or f/u to back their words. For example I had to follow up on the permit through the city to find out the company still had not paid for the work to be done. Martin is our representative. 3. Disjointed company, departments don't talk to each other. Roofing, solar panels, etc... It's been horribly stressful. Now the business wi... read more
Horrible Experience, incomplete job My husband and I have had the worst customer experience of our lifetime. The work is scruffy and one of the shabbiest solar installation job in our neighborhood. We truly regret being serviced by this company. ESP started our solar installation in May 2022. First the site surveyor tripped our AC system, we were out of a working AC for nearly 4 weeks in the middle of a hit summer! We called and emailed and they refused to take accountability and stated it wasn’t possible that it was their f... read more

We apologize for the experience - from the information we have on your project, we show that the work has been completed. But if there are still any missing items, we request that you reach out to support@joinesp.com and send any photos of the missing work. We are happy to investigate and make sure you are taken care of on your concerns if there is in fact anything left unresolved.
It was a Journey I will state that once I was on the schedule for installation 5/31/2022, the installers were very efficient. Unfortunately the Project Manager was not. After being resubmitted to Beaumont B&S on 6/30/2022 I called to inquire on July 18, B&S stated the permit was issued on July 8 but no inspection had been called. I proceeded to obtain the plans & job card, and passed final inspection on July 21. Of course no one from ESP would return my call, so I contacted SCE July 27, and emailed them the final job card an... read more

We apologize for the delays and any poor communication that led to this experience. We always strive for a smooth process, and have looked into the areas we can improve based on your explanation. There definitely should have been more outbound communication, and we identified something in our process that has since been rectified. Your system is up and running and we are confident it will serve you for a long time to come, please don't hesitate to reach out if you ever need anything else.
Worst Customer Service ESP installed my solar panels Oct. 2021, I discovered that they fell to complete the job. They did not install the critter guard that I paid extra for, and because of their failure to install the critter guard, I have birds nesting and soiling my panels. I have been calling them every week for over 4 weeks, and they have failed to respond. They refuse to return my phone calls and when you do get someone they do not have a clue and always promise someone will call back and they have not. This is more th... read more
Business response:
Gerald & Debbie, we're very sorry for the oversight - we have an open ticket and will follow up to make sure it is prioritized. The critter guard slipped through the cracks during the initial install, but we are currently working to schedule a time to have the work completed and will have someone reach out to you soon. Again, please accept our apology for any frustration and know that we are working to get this fully wrapped up for you.
